EG: High School Chronicles - Story #15 - Part 2

The meeting they arranged was later that very night in the hotel that Karaoke Pop was apparently staying at for a while. The hotel itself was a very nice luxury hotel in the fancy part of Canterlot Town, and the luxury hotel itself was called, “Hotel Luxury.”

Yeah. REAL original name, wasn’t it?

Anyway, the hotel itself was 20 stories tall, and the inside of it – starting with its lobby – was quite fancy AND swanky.

Everyone had headed over to that place after taking all of their pets back to their homes, except for Spike of course. Once they entered the hotel lobby, they were impressed by all of the fanciness.
“C'est Magnifique!” said Rarity, REALLY loving the fanciness most of all.
“I’ll say,” said Applejack, raising her cowgirl hat up a bit, “This place is prettier than a thousand-worded picture.”
“Wait, what?? ” everyone asked in unison, finding THAT southern saying to be a bit flat.
Applejack replied sheepishly, “Uh, yeah… Sorry, y’all, not EVERY southern sayin’ can be as clever as a fox doin’ Open Mic Night… OH, and just like that I’m back! ”

“Uh… o-kay…” said Flash.
Princess Twilight then whispered to Flash, “Whenever A.J. of your world or mine makes a southern saying, I always feel that it’s just best to simply nod, smile, and move along. ”
“Noted,” said Flash.

Spike then said, “So, where exactly IS this Karaoke Pop girl anyway?”
Flash replied, “Oh, she’ll meet us in the lobby soon. And she’ll have her security team guarding her, so no need to worry about any paparazzi or crazy fans swarming on her and us out of nowhere… for the most part. ”

“Good… unless one of those fans is Rarity ” Rainbow Dash joked slyly.
“Hey!” said Rarity.
“Don’t forget about Pinkie Pie,” Sunset Shimmer added.
Pinkie Pie simply replied, “It’s true.”

Just then, a nearby elevator dinged and open its doors. The person that stepped out of it was a young, Caucasian teenage girl wearing a lovely white blouse, black high-heels, a cute blue skirt, and had light purple eyes and long, flowing black hair with red and pike striping highlights. Plus, she was indeed surrounded by a small team of intimidating bodyguards.

When the girl saw Flash Sentry, she called out to him saying, “~Flash! Annyeonghasibnikka!”
Flash walked over to her and hugged her saying, “Hey there, Kay-Kay. ”
Rainbow Dash couldn’t help but chuckle a little saying, “I’m sorry, ‘Kay-Kay’? ”
“Ah take it that's yer lil’ nickname fer her?” Applejack asked Flash.
“Yeah,” said Flash, scratching the back of his head and blushing a little, “Back when we were little kids, I used to call her that.”
Karaoke replied, “And I used to call him, ‘P.S.’, which was short for ‘Panda Sneeze’ since he used to sneeze like a baby panda.”

“Panda Sneeze? ” Princess Twilight asked.
“OH, I think I know what she’s talking about,” said Sunset Shimmer, as she pulled out her smartphone and showed Twilight a certain famous online video of a baby panda sneezing with a high-pitched tone practically out of nowhere.

Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy watched that video with them, as Pinkie Pie said, “Oh, my gosh… Cutest Sneeze EVER!! ”
Fluttershy added, “And Flash used to sneeze like THAT? Aww, I bet it was just adorable back then. ^^ ”

Flash was even more flustered as he said, “Well, I don’t know about THAT, but… <:///) ”

“Well, that part about Flash sneezing like a panda does sound pretty cute,” said Princess Twilight.
Hearing that from the beloved Princess of Friendship, Flash immediately yet simply replied, “…I used to sneeze like that all the time, Princess.”

“Princess? ” said Karaoke Pop, “OH, you must be Twilight Sparkle. Flash has told me a LOT about you. ^_^ ”
That surprised everyone, as Twilight replied worringly, “H-h-he has? What did he say? O.o; ”
Karaoke replied, “That you basically saved his life TWICE. He didn’t want to go into details about it for some reason, though. Still, it’s so good to finally meet you, Miss ‘Princess of Friendship.’ That’s what the people at Canterlot High School call you, right? Cool nickname. ^^ ”

Twilight, Spike, and the rest of the Main Seven looked at each other, shifting their eyes at each other humorously every two seconds, and then Twilight said, “…Yep. That’s what they call me at Canterlot High… where I go to… all the time… because it’s where I’m from. * squee * ”

Obviously, Flash most definitely made sure to “ix-nay on the alking-tay about agic-may” when talking to Karaoke Pop.

“Sooo…” said Sunset Shimmer, wanting to quickly change the subject, “Flash… how exactly do you and Karaoke Pop know each other? I mean, we get that you two have known each other since you were both kids, but still.”

“Well, before I get to that, I’d like to introduce you all properly,” said Flash, “Karaoke Pop, these ladies here with me are the ‘Rainbooms’ that I’ve told you so much about: Sunset Shimmer, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and the one and only, Twilight Sparkle. Oh, and Twilight’s little pet dog, Spike.”

Spike barked hello to Karaoke, to which she replied, “Awww, mueos gwiyeoun jag-eun gang-aji! ^3^ ”

“Thank you, Karaoke, and I think he likes you,” said Princess Twilight, as Karaoke was scratching Spike’s fuzzy little chin, which of course made him wag his little tail.

Flash then asked Twilight, “You understood what Karaoke just said?”
“Well, some of it,” explained Princess Twilight, “There's, uh... people back home that speak like her.”
What Twilight meant by THAT was that in the world that she originated from, there was a country called Korreina as well, and of course she wouldn’t be the Princess of Friendship if she didn’t know at least SOME of the foreign languages that her world consisted of.

“Oh, you’re from out of town?” Karaoke asked Twilight, “And you know people that are from Korreina and speak its language, too?”
“Something like that…” said Princess Twilight, not wanting to say out loud that in her own home dimension, there’s a Pony version of Korreina there.

Seeing that herself, Sunset Shimmer said, “Well, getting back on topic… Flash, how do you and THE one and only Karaoke Pop know each other?”
“Well,” said Flash, “Again, she and I have known each other since back when we were little kids. Back then, we both shared similar interests when it came to music. However, back then, I wasn’t all that sure if I WANTED to become a singer or musician myself, believe it or not. Karaoke on the other hand… heh heh… she already knew during those younger days of ours that she wanted to be a great singer. Possibly, the best one of Korreinian race ever.”

“Wow, she aimed big back when she was a little kid?” Rainbow Dash asked, “I can definitely relate to that. ”

“Of course ya can, Rainbow,” said Applejack, smiling while rolling her eyes.

“Well, anyway,” said Karaoke Pop, “When Flash and I were both about 10 years old, my family and I had to move away from Canterlot Town to Korreina, but Flash and I have kept in touch with each other ever since, kinda like pen pals: letters, phone calls, e-mails, and even video chatting… we’ve stayed close to each other as best as we could while we were both in our own individual schools and practicing in our musical passions. Flash has done pretty well, but obviously I made it to the big time.”

“You sure have,” Flash replied to Karaoke, “I just hope I’ll get there myself someday.”
“I’m sure you will, Hon ^^ ” said Karaoke, hugging her dear old friend, “After all, how could a rock ‘n’ roll doll like yourself NOT make it to the big time soon? ”
“Flash as a doll?” Pinkie Pie asked, stretching her neck out towards them, “I don’t know… I mean, Flash as a mini-chibi doll? That’s kinda adorable. Flash as a regular sized doll? Eh, could be better or worse, really 50-50 on that. But a mannequin-sized doll of Flash Sentry? * shivers * THAT is gonna haunt ya in your nightmares. O_o; ”

Everyone looked at each other, then Sunset Shimmer said, “…I don’t think Karaoke Pop meant THAT kind of doll, Pinkie Pie.”
“I know,” said Pinkie Pie, petting the top of Sunset Shimmer’s head saying, “But you’ll understand EXACTLY what I’m talking about, Sunset, when you’re older… and in your 20’s.”

“O-kay…” said Sunset Shimmer, wanting to change the subject to what they were talking about before AGAIN, “So, Flash… are you and Karaoke basically saying that the reason you two have been hanging out lately is because you two are essentially old friends and you found out that Karaoke could manage a visit to you here in Canterlot Town, that way you two could catch up and hang out like old times?”

“Exactly,” said Flash Sentry, “THAT and Karaoke Pop is having a concert in Canterlot Town, particularly the Canterlot Galleria Mall. So, I was also thinking that maybe, if possible… she would like to and maybe try to manage… some of my friends, including you guys… the Rainbooms… to… join her onstage?”

Most of the Rainbooms gasped deeply, and then Pinkie Pie exclaimed as she got up in both Flash and Karaoke Pop’s faces saying, “SHUT… UP!!! O3O  Flash, you’re saying Karaoke Pop wants both the Rainbooms AND the Flash Drive to perform with her live onstage?!?!”

Karaoke Pop replied, “Yep, AND he also wanted this concert as a way of symbolizing the newfound friendship between Canterlot High School and Crystal Prep Academy, so my agents and I are doing everything we can to make sure that pretty much EVERYONE in BOTH schools gets invited to such a big event. So, my little Rainbooms… what do you say?”

“We say…” Rainbow Dash began, “This… is… SO AWESOME!!! ^3^ ”

“That’s a yes,” said Flash with a smile on his face.

“Not quite,” said Sunset Shimmer, “Uh, excuse us, Karaoke, but we Rainbooms need to have a quick talk with each other and Flash first.”

The Rainbooms and Flash Sentry all huddled up together to discuss quietly about all of this.

“What's wrong, Sunset?” Princess Twilight asked her.
“Yeah,” said Flash, “I thought you girls would be pumped up for an opportunity like this.”
Sunset Shimmer replied, “Well, don’t get me wrong, Flash: what you did for us with THE one and only Karaoke Pop was really sweet and thoughtful of you, but… well… this probably isn’t really your fault, but… Flash? Did you by any chance forget that we Rainbooms REVEAL OUR MAGICAL PONY-LIKE FORMS whenever we play musical instruments, including the times that we had to PERFORM IN PUBLIC???”

Flash had a dumbfounded look on his face as he said, “…OH… Right… Whoops, my bad. ”
The Rainbooms simply groaned and/or facepalmed themselves at that honest answer.

“You forgot that already?!” asked Rainbow Dash, getting up in Flash's face.
“Okay,” Flash replied, “MAYBE I completely overlooked that realistic fact, but c’mon, you girls have been working on getting that sort of thing under control for weeks now, haven’t you?”

“Sort of,” said Sunset Shimmer, “During our private band practice hours, we HAVE made some progress since the end of the Friendship Games, but our control over our magical powers usually and only lasts for approximately 20 minutes now, half an hour at the most.”

Princess Twilight replied, “But it’s been a fairly long time since I myself have performed with the Rainbooms. I’m sure I can control my own magic, even in this human world of yours, but still…”

“Well, I reckon we can’t just turn down THE Karaoke Pop after she ‘n’ Flash have already gone ‘n’ done so much for us, as their way of delightfully surprising us,” said Applejack.

“That’s for sure,” said Fluttershy, “It would break Karaoke’s heart.”

“Not to mention possibly stain our image and reputation at Canterlot High if word got out,” said Rarity.

“Then I guess it's settled,” said Rainbow Dash, “We're going to HAVE to preform with Karaoke Pop. This is both awesome yet bitter-sweet… though personally, I for one think it’s only just about 20% bitter-sweet. * squee * ”

Sunset Shimmer and Princess Twilight both simply rolled their eyes yet smiled as they said together, “Of course you would think that… Jinx! Double Jinx! Triple Jinx! Quadruple Jinx! Pentacle Jinx! Hexaple Jinx! Septuple Jinx! Octaple Jinx! Infinity Jinx!”

Listening to only that very last part, Karaoke Pop couldn’t help but giggle as she said to Flash, “Well, Flash, I have to say that you certainly know how to pick friends that are girls who just adorable. ^_^ ”

“Thanks ” said Flash, “And yeah… they are pretty great, aren’t they?”
“Sooo…?” Karaoke Pop whispered to Flash a little playfully, “Exactly which one of those two level-headed girls are you dating these days? Sunset or Twilight? ^3^ ”

Flash looked at Karaoke Pop with a bit of an awkwardly shocked expression on his face, but then he simply looked away saying plainly, “…yeah… I’m not even gonna answer that.”
THAT was much to Karaoke’s confusion.

Anyway, the Rainbooms broke out of their group huddle and Sunset Shimmer said to Karaoke Pop, “Alright, K-Pop, it looks like we’re all in.”

“Usuhan!” Karaoke replied, “Glad to hear it. Now, Rainbooms, if I may, I respectfully suggest that you all go home and get some much needed rest tonight right away. Music rehearsal takes place back here at Hotel Luxury, particularly at its private ballroom, tomorrow morning at 8 A.M. sharp. Understood? ”

Pinkie Pie immediately made a saluting stance saying, “Sir! Yes, ma’am!”

“I guess that means I'll have to spend the night here in this world,” said Princess Twilight.

“I’m sorry, what was that? ” Karaoke Pop asked.
Quickly realizing what she just said, Twilight said, “Uh, nothing! ”

Flash cleared his throat saying in a sheepish manner as well, “AHEM, well, I think I should be getting back to my place also. I’ll see you all tomorrow, ladies.”
“Bye, Flash!” they all said to him, as they too left for home.

Karaoke waved goodbye to all of them, and then she went back all the way up to her hotel room, which was quite fancy from the bed to the TV to the mini-fridge to the bathroom. Once she was inside that suite and locked the door behind her, she sat on the bed and pulled out her smartphone to call someone she knew.

The smartphone rang a couple of times, and then a mysterious voice answered saying, “Hello?”
Karaoke Pop replied a bit plainly, “Hey, M.T., it’s me. I just finished talking to Flash and those Rainboom girls… they’re all in, just like you predicted they would be.”

“Excellent,” replied this ‘M.T.’ character, “Now that Steps 1 and 2 have been completed, we can proceed to Step 3.”

Karaoke replied, “Listen, M.T., I just… well… are you really certain those girls are a threat? I mean, they seem really nice.”

M.T. replied, “Whether they are nice or not, and whether they mean well or not… it’s all completely irrelevant to the fact that who and what they really are is a threat to the entire human race… and to you and what you have always desired… or rather, WHO you have always desired. Remember, Miss Karaoke… everything that I have told and shown you about those Rainboom girls is 100% real, and Flash Sentry is quite close to being right in the middle of the chaotic nonsense that those young girls always seem to attract. Flash is going to be EXACTLY in the middle of so much more danger, as will every other human being on Earth, unless we do something about it right away. The Rainbooms may seem like real angelic saviors, but the real reality about them is that even though they think of themselves as heroes who will change the world… the only change they’ll bring to this world is the kind of change that is NOT for the better… not even in the slightest. So… just do as I say, and I promise that both you and Flash will be completely out of harm’s way… not to mention so will the rest of all life on Earth… or at least, I hope not… Do you understand?”

Karaoke paused for a few seconds, before sighing and said, “Yes, M.T., I guess I understand… and honestly… I think I agree with you… whatever those Rainbooms really are, they need to wake up to the real reality they’re creating and putting themselves in… Someone has teach them that lesson, and it looks like it’s going to have to be us… but are you sure that Flash will be onboard with us willingly?”

“I’m positive he will,” said M.T., “At least, in time he will… and if by some chance he won’t be, that will be HIS problem, not ours.”

“I guess…” said Karaoke, “Listen, M.T., I think I’m gonna call it a night now, I… I really need to sleep on all of this ASAP, especially since I gotta get up early tomorrow morning.”

M.T. replied, “Of course, my dear, I understand. You sleep well tonight, okay?”

“Okay,” said Karaoke, “Goodnight.”

Karaoke then hung up her phone, and so did M.T.
M.T. themselves was in some sort of dark place at the time, in who-knows-where in Canterlot Town. They chuckled quietly to themselves saying, “Human beings… they really are just as easy to manipulate as Ponies are, if not easier.”

The Rainbooms themselves were all now sleeping in their own homes, while Sunset Shimmer and Princess Twilight and Spike were all sharing a small slumber party with Rainbow Dash at her house that night.

All of the Rainbooms and their little pet purple dog too were all sleeping peacefully that night, as M.T. said to himself/herself in their own creepy yet villainous manner, “I do hope those Rainbooms will sleep peacefully tonight… for it will be quite possibly one of THE last peaceful sleeps they will ever know… Hahahahahahahahaha… Hahahahahahahahaha! HAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!”
