Equestria Girls: the Spring Fling - Chapter 16

Chapter 16: An Artistic Tour


Now that all of their arcade fun was over, Button Mash had to get going and head back to his home. He said goodbye to the Rainbooms, the Dazzlings, and the rest of the friends he had fun with at the galleria mall’s arcade today, and then he went on his way.

"So, now what're we gonna do?" asked Rainbow Dash, as she leaned against a nearby wall.
“Well, I don’t ‘bout you guys,” said Wensley, “But I for one wouldn’t mind checking out Crafty Arts’s house.”
“Oh, yeah, that’s right: you DID just move into Canterlot Town, right?” Rainbow Dash asked Crafty Arts.

"Yeah, we just moved in a few days ago – last weekend, in fact – but I haven't gotten familiar with the town yet," explained Crafty Arts.
"In that case, allow us to be your personal tour guides of Canterlot Town, darling!" said Rarity, excited for more fun with her friends.

“Well, that does sound like it could be fun to do,” said Wensley, “THEN we can check out Crafty Arts’s house.”
Drumbeat added, “Yeah, it does sound good, but it’s getting pretty late and I got tons of homework to do.”
“Yeah, same here,” said Arrow Swift, “But thanks for having us, you guys, it was really cool and fun. ”

“No problem, you two,” said Flash Sentry, as he shared bro-fist bumps with both of his substitute band mates (or “Human Bro-Hoofs”, as some might say), “You two have a safe trip back to Everfree Town, and I hope to see you both tomorrow after school again.”

“We’ll try to make it if we can, depending on what our schedules are going to be like,” said Drumbeat, waving goodbye, “Well, thanks again for all of the fun, everyone! Later! ^^ ”

“Bye, boys, take care,” Twilight replied, as she and the others waved goodbye back.
Adagio Dazzle then said, “Can’t wait to see you again, Arrow Swift. ”
“Uh, yeah, see ya ” Arrow Swift replied sheepishly, as his purple pet lynx cat, Cheshire followed right beside him.

Sunset Shimmer then said to Adagio Dazzle, “You don’t really give up, do you?”
“Not even a little,” Adagio replied with a smug grin on her face.
Sunset Shimmer then sighed reluctantly as she thought to herself, “Still can’t believe to this day that I used to be like HER… >_<; ”

"Do the rest of y'all have ta go?" Applejack asked Flash, Noble Wind, and the Dazzlings.
“Nah, I can stay around a little longer,” said Flash.

“I’m not,” said Adagio Dazzle, putting her hands on her hips and acting pretty snobby, “This has been, well… truly amusing, but quite frankly, I think I’ve been out of the house for long enough. I’m heading back to Flash’s place. Aria, Sonata, you coming?”

“OH, yeah,” Aria Blaze agreed.
Noble Wind and Flash both sighed reluctantly, as Noble Wind said, “Well, I did promise the Ponies of my home-world that I’d keep an eye on the Sirens in this world, so I guess I’m gonna have to tag along with them and you for the evening, Flash, if that’s okay with you.”

Flash nodded with a smile, “Sure thing, dude.”
Sonata Dusk quickly glomped ahold of Noble Wind and said, “~YAY, Noby gets to stay with us! ^3^ ”

“Wait, hold on,” said Wensley, “Noble Wind, what exactly are you talking about by ‘home-world’ and ‘Sirens’? ”
Everyone’s eyes widened out of shock, knowing that they were in trouble with their Equestrian secret.

Noble Wind quickly waved a hand nervously as he then responded, “OH, it’s nothing at all, dude, just talking funny nonsense to myself out loud is all, heheheheheheheheheh… Heh… ”

“Yeah, that’s Noble Wind for ya!” Twilight added, stepping in just as sheepish and nervous, “He’s an international, wandering weirdo, but he’s still the loveable pal to have around, heh heh heh… ” ****

“Uh… O-kay…? ” Wensely stated, as he then turned to Crafty Arts and said to her, “Well, again, a tour of Canterlot Town would be great for both of us, don’t you think, Crafty-hon? ^^ ”

"Of course, Wensy, a tour sounds great," said Crafty.
"Well then, let's get started!" said Rainbow Dash, already wanting to get this show on the road.

Flash then turned to Twilight and said to her, "Well, it was really cool hanging out like this with you and the gang here, Twilight. I mean, your friends and my friends getting along together and having fun, including even the Dazzlings… basically….   I gotta say that it really was a lot of cool fun, don’t you think? "

"I agree, and I had a great time too, Flash," said Twilight, smiling and starting to blush, “And I think we have already established for like the fifth time by now that we all had fun. ^///^;”

“Right. Well, sorry that I can’t join you and your friends on the tour of town or even checking out Crafty’s place,” Flash continued, “It sounds like it could be even more fun, but you know how it is: I’ve been looking after those Dazzling girls for both Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna since the beginning of this week, and if I don’t continue to do so, who knows WHAT kind of trouble they’ll start causing or getting themselves into, even without their… well, the M-word.”

The M-word here of course being “magic.”

"It's okay, I understand, Flash. Maybe me and the girls can tell you about the tour and such tomorrow at school," said Twilight, as she gently held Flash's hand.

“I’d like that,” Flash replied, now smiling and blushing with Twilight as he then scratched the back of his head and said, “And you know… there’s, uh… a special something that I think I wanna share with you, Twi, but uh… I don’t think it’s quite ready to be handed over to you yet, to be honest. I’m still working on it and trying to get it finished, so you know.”

“Really? What is it?” Twilight asked Flash, a little intrigued, “A special gift from you to me, maybe? ”

Flash held his left index finger up to his face and said, "Shhh… Sorry, Princess, but no spoilers. "
"Okay, Flash, no spoilers," said Twilight while blushing even harder yet very adorably.

“Uh, Flash? Dude?” Noble Wind said to the blue-haired guitarist, as it was then reestablished that everyone else was still standing right there with both young crushers while Noble Wind said, “You two DO of course realize that everyone else here is STILL standing right here with both of you young crushers, right? ”

Everyone couldn’t help but chuckle and laugh at that, much to Twilight and Flash’s embarrassed expense.
“O-kay, and just like that, I am out of here, come on, Dazzlings and Noble-dude,” Flash said a bit plainly, his face still as red as an apple as he pushed all three of the Dazzlings and Noble Wind ALL away from the premises of the galleria mall, with his pet half-wolf canine, Beo following right next to them.

Sunset Shimmer called out to Flash, “You know, if you want to video chat with Twilight later tonight, that can be arranged!”
“Oh, really?? Sure, that’d be great! ” said Flash.
“Video chat?? ” Twilight asked Sunset Shimmer.
Sunset replied to her, “I’ll explain it to you later, Princess.”

And with that done and taken care of, all of the main Equestria Girls and Spike the Dragon-Dog left the galleria mall to start giving Crafty Arts and Wensley a tour of Canterlot Town, after getting over-the-phone permission from Crafty’s parents and Wensley’s parents, of course.

Oh, and sorry for not saying this earlier, but Vinyl Scratch herself was sticking around and tagging along with them too, so you’re ALL welcome for that.

Anyway, the first place they all started their tour with was the Sugar Cube Café, the place where the Rainbooms usually hung out at in town.

"This is one of the bestest places to eat sweets!" said Pinkie Pike, as she then suddenly grabbed a bag of candy off one of the shelves of the food counter and started to chow down from it with great zeal, along with the big bag of candy she got from her candy shopping spree at the Canterlot Town Galleria Mall with Sonata Dusk.

The Rainbooms all just sighed and then facepalmed themselves at the same time.
Sunset Shimmer paid both Mr. and Mrs. Cake at the counter for the candy bag Pinkie Pie just swiped, as Wensley then asked Rarity about Pinkie Pie, “No offense, but is your pink friend here always this… well… energetic? ”

Rarity answered him by saying, “Don’t worry, darling, you’ll get used to it… eventually.”

They all then got their drinks and snacks and started to talk together about all kinds of stuff: school, music, the upcoming Spring Fling Festival and Dance at Canterlot High, which was only in two days from now.

After that, they decided to take both Crafty Arts and Wensley to a place of their choosing next.
"So, Couz, is there anyplace specific y’all want ta see next?" Applejack asked her cousin, Wensley.
Wensley and Crafty both took a few minutes to think.

Suddenly, Crafty Arts smiled and said, "I've been wanting to see the museum."
"Museum?? " Wensley asked Crafty.
"Yeah, I heard there's a big Art Museum in town," explained Crafty.

"That does sound like it could be very interesting and fun " said Twilight.
Rainbow Dash thought quietly in her mind, "Yeah… VERY interesting and fun for eggheads… XP "

"Ah'm fine with goin', what do ya'll think?" asked Applejack.
"~Oh, I love looking at fancy and beautiful art," said Rarity, “Count ME in, darlings! ^^ ”

“I don’t think we really have a choice in the matter here, anyway,” said Rainbow Dash, shrugging her shoulders, “If our new friends want to see that museum, then let’s get over there… and get it over with… ASAP.”

“Alrighty then, let’s get going ” said Wensley, “Lead the way, ladies.”
“Can do,” said Sunset Shimmer, as she took the lead.
The Rainbooms, Crafty Arts, Wensley, Spike, and Vinyl Scratch all headed towards the Canterlot Museum of Art and Science with Crafty and Wensley following them.

Once they got there, they made their way inside of the building to check out all of the many incredibly well-crafted creations of both art and science, such as different environments painted and illustrated beautifully on canvases, sculptures made out of both clay and different metals such as gold, silver, and bronze, and they even had a small exhibit room dedicated to the musical arts throughout the ages from medieval times to more modern eras. Sunset Shimmer really felt like that last exhibit room had a bit of a “Through the Ages” type of song in it somewhere. **

Wensley couldn’t help but whistle out of impression at everything they were seeing so far, then he said, “A-maze-zing… ”
“Indeed it is,” Rarity agreed, equally in pure awe.

"I know, some of these paintings are just beautiful!" Crafty exclaimed excitedly.
"True, but I don't understand how your kind here can make all these artworks and science-based creations without the use of magic," said Twilight, while looking at one of the sculptures.

Sunset Shimmer explained, “Well, so far, nobody here on Earth has had ANY magic until you came to stop me back when I was still bad, Twilight, then when we had to use magic again to fight the Dazzlings in that Battle of the Bands.”

Wensley then said, “Huh? Wait, what are you guys talking about with all of this magic stuff? Where did THAT thing about those Dazzling girls come from? ”
Twilight and Sunset quickly realized what they just said, as they turned towards Wensley and chuckled nervously.

Twilight said, “Oh, it’s nothing, nothing at all, Wensley, just simple girl talk, right Sunny? ”
Sunset Shimmer responded, “Uh, yeah, totally, Twi! ”

The two young ladies simply kept chuckled nervously as they walked backwards away from Wensley and Crafty Arts, which confused Wensley slightly more, “What was THAT all about?? ”

Suddenly, everyone heard a loud scream coming from Pinkie Pie.
“What, what, what is it?!” Rainbow Dash asked her, starting to panic.
Pinkie Pie was staring at a particularly unique painting and said, "This one is made out of the most delicious candy I've ever seen! O3O "
“Wait, what?? ” Rainbow Dash asked, looking at the painting to see just what the heck Pinkie Pie was talking about this time.

The painting Pinkie Pie was looking at was something that might as well have been something out of a child's storybook: there were clouds made out of cotton candy, trees with caramel apples on them, and huge mountains made from piles of candy pieces.

"I've never seen art like THIS before," said Crafty, quite confused at just what kind of artwork it was.
Rarity noticed a small plaque on the wall right underneath the painting, "It says that it was made by an artist named… Discord? "

THAT really surprised Twilight and Spike as they both looked at each other.
Pinkie Pie then said, “Well, whoever this Discord guy is, making a candy painting truly is something of… GREAT TASTE?? ”

A comedic rim-shot went off in the background.
Then Twilight said underneath her breath, “I wouldn’t say THAT… ever. >_<; ”
Pinkie Pie then continued, “Seriously, though, they made a really cute painting here with the cotton candy and the caramel apples and the candy mountains and now I’m hungry for candy again~ O3O ”

Pinkie Pie then scarfed down some more candy from the big candy bag she brought with her from the mall.
Sunset Shimmer then said, “I’m pretty sure there’s a ‘No Eating or Drinking in the Museum’ policy, Pinkie Pie.”
Pinkie Pie then said with her face cheeks filled with candy pieces, “Yeah, well, nuts to that policy! ~Oooh, I just remembered I also got some nutmeg-flavored candy, too! ^3^ ”

“Aren’t nutmegs usually spicy? ” Twilight asked her.
“Yeah, but only if you eat them in huge amounts,” Pinkie Pie said, as she then consumed like 30 nutmeg-flavored candy pieces all at once, then her face turned red hot as she then said, “ O//.//O  …I just ate huge amounts of nutmeg! HUGE NUTMEG AMOUNTS!! THAT WAS A MISTAKE!!!!”

Red-colored steam then fumed out of Pinkie Pie’s ears as she quickly looked for a water fountain, found one, and chugged down on plenty of water to cool down while also making her cheeks and stomach look like big water balloons.

Once Pinkie Pie was completely cooled down, she fell down to the floor and laid down there as she relaxed, “Ahhh… SO much better now…”
Pinkie Pie then gave out a large burp that lasted for about 5 seconds until she then said with a giggle, “~S’cuse me. * squee * ”

All of the Rainbooms, Wensley, Crafty Arts, Spike, and Vinyl Scratch just stood there staring at Pinkie Pie, completely shocked as Vinyl raised up her purple sunglasses to look at Pinkie Pie with a dumbfounded look on the DJ girl’s face.

"Maybe we should go somewhere else now " said Twilight, feeling a little awkward.

“Hey, guys check THIS out!” said Rainbow Dash, as she pointed to a large and wide painting of a huge, snowy, mountainous area. The painting was apparently a smoothly streaked out image that captured the very snowy essence of the Terra Firma Mountains, a huge mountain range that stretched out for a significant amount of miles in not only the realm of Equestria, but apparently also in the Human World as well.

“Amazing…” Twilight said in awe.
Rainbow Dash then saw that on the painting’s plaque, it was painted by someone who was named, “Double Diamond.”

Just then, they heard what sounded like Rarity screaming.
Everyone looked at Rarity worried, then Applejack asked, "What in tarnation is with all the screamin' THIS time ‘round?"

Rarity was staring at life-sized sculptures of the Human versions of none other than THE famous Sapphire Shores and Photo Finish themselves, posing together.
“WHOA…” said Wensley, quite impressed with what he was seeing, “Now THIS right here is what I call ‘impressive’. ”

Twilight said to Sunset Shimmer quietly, “I have to say, even though she’s just a statue of the real human version of Sapphire Shores, she’s quiet beautiful nonetheless.”

“I know :///) ” Sunset Shimmer replied, feeling a little overwhelmed with a certain thing known as “being star-struck” as she then said to Twilight, “You know… right before I first came to the Human World, Sapphire Shores used to go to Canterlot High School and was the top student there. She was like a real idol to everyone there in so many ways. And when I learned about her, I thought I could use what the students at Canterlot High saw in her to my advantage, but only because back then… I thought what they saw in Sapphire Shores was merely a powerful, upcoming star that always got what she wanted and ruled the school because of it… but after YOU came along, Twilight, and you and the other girls showed me what kind of… well… magic and true power that friendship could really give a person in all the right ways… including REAL perception and insight… provided that they realized and fully understood what such things were all about… I learned and realized that being, well… a powerful idol was about being someone others could look up to and follow their example… and I’ve already come to the realization that Sapphire Shores herself became a real idol and still is one today because she herself knows what it means to be someone others can look up to in all the right ways and for all the right reasons… just like YOU yourself, Twilight, for you are a real idol in your own yet truly righteous way for all the right reasons.”

Twilight smiled and blushed as she looked at Sunset Shimmer, held both of her hands, and then she said to her very sincerely, “Well, I believe that YOU, Sunset Shimmer, have become… or at least ARE becoming… a truly righteous idol and young woman yourself. And… to be perfectly honest, Sunset Shimmer… I think that if YOU yourself were given an Element of Harmony to represent now, I think I know exactly what you would represent… what you DO represent these days.”

“What’s that?” Sunset Shimmer asked.
Twilight replied with a proud smile, “YOU, Sunset Shimmer, would and possibly do represent what I believe would be known as… ‘The Element of Righteousness’.”

Sunset Shimmer asked, “The Element of… Righteousness?”
“Yes,” Twilight nodded with a sincere smile, “Because you have righteously evolved yourself from being a power-hungry monste... uh, I mean, brat …into a truly beautiful, inspirational, and wonderful young woman that everyone can look up to and follow your example now: that whatever horrible person you were back then, you can let it go, put it behind you, and move on with your life by becoming a truly good person, with a little help from those around you that ARE truly good friends to have. Especially since you clearly DO know by now that real power does NOT come from being a horrible, selfish monster… Real power not only comes from within yourself, it is THE goodness of your heart and being there for those in need, who will in turn become real friends to you and be there for you because you were a real friend to them all and were there for them all.”

Sunset Shimmer looked around to see that everyone around her was looking at her with sincerely happy smiles on their faces and supportive gestures in their respectable attitudes.

Sunset Shimmer couldn’t help but shed a couple of tears of joy, as she then wiped them from her face and said, “I guess I really am already off to a good start, huh?  <:,) ”

“Of course,” Rainbow Dash replied, giving her a thumbs up, “I mean, HELLO, nowadays you’re an awesome girl who can really stand her ground and step up when she needs to, as well as have both a wicked sweet singing voice and equally sweet guitar skills.  Well, uh, next to me, of course.   Though, Flash Sentry DID teach you well on the guitar, clearly. ”

“Wait, Sunset,” Twilight interrupted, really surprised to hear this, “FLASH taught YOU how to play guitar??”
Sunset Shimmer replied, “Yeah, both before we broke up AND sometime after he and I made up, that last part happening of course right after you and the other girls stopped my evil, she-demon self from hurting everyone. Sorry for not mentioning that to you earlier, Twi… My bad. ”

Rainbow Dash then stretched out her neck towards Twilight and asked her slyly, “Not jealous of Flash Sentry teaching some other girl guitar, are ya, Princess? ”

Applejack intervened as she said to Rainbow Dash just as slyly, “Says the gal who took nearly a month to get over the reality of NOT bein’ the one who scored the game-decidin’ point in last month’s big soccer match victory.”

Rainbow Dash was shocked to hear that, but then looked to the side as she scratched the back of her head as she said awkwardly, “Uh, heh heh… Touche. ^///^; ”

Wensely then spoke up, “Can’t say I really understand what’s going on here with you girls entirely, but I reckon it sounds like you’re all pretty close and Sunset Shimmer here is basically one lucky gal to have you all as her friends. And I really do hope you all have been good to Crafty Arts here during her first week at Canterlot High School.”

"Dun worry, Wensley, we've all become friends with yer gal pal," said Applejack, as she pat Wensley on the back.
"Applejack's right, Crafty Arts has been such a sweet darling," said Rarity, and put her hands on Crafty's shoulders.
“Alright, good to know ” said Wensley, “And yeah, Rarity, I know that she is sweet. Believe me, I know. <:///) ”

"Thanks, girls, and Wensy, YOU are so sweet~" said Crafty starting to blush, and hugged Wensley tightly yet very cutely.
“So, uh… where to now?” Wensley asked, smiling and blushing as well.
“That’s a pretty good question,” Rainbow Dash replied, as everyone except Twilight looked at each other, unsure of where to go.
“I think I know just the place… ^3^ ” Twilight said a little cheerfully, as she led them all to the museum’s science exhibits, much to Rainbow Dash’s expense of course.

"Ugh! Why did you have to bring us here Twilight? This place is just for eggheads like you," said Rainbow Dash.
“Rainbow Dash, don’t be rude,” said Applejack, “It’s the least we can do fer her after not seein’ her fer so many dang long weeks.”
“I know, but these kinds of exhibits can be soooo borrriiinng…” Rainbow Dash added, leaning up against the viewing glass of the exhibit that was right behind her. Then something about said exhibit caught her eye as she turned around to see just what kind of scientific or technological marvel was standing right behind her.

Inside the glass was a model of all of Canterlot Town, but it was a futuristic version of it.
"Whoa, what's THIS?! O3O " asked Rainbow Dash with an excited look on her face.
Pinkie Pie looked with equal excitement and awe as she said with her face pressed up against the glass along with Rainbow Dash’s, “It looks like a small scaled model of Canterlot Town, only futuristic-y.”

“I know, right?! O3O ” Twilight added, who was also looking at the small yet vast and scientifically innovated model of Canterlot Town in quite an adorkable way, “I’ve never seen a scale-modeled town look so amazingly, technologically advanced before! * squee * ”

"Wow, ah didn't know y’all liked future techno stuff, Twi," said Applejack.
“Well, when it comes to math and science, I do have a real interest in them, and that’s basically what all technology is based on,” Twilight added, “Though, I wonder who came up with this futuristic version of Canterlot Town anyway? ”

Twilight then looked at the model’s artist plaque to see who created the model town before them, and she was quite surprised.
"Well, who made it?" Rainbow Dash asked Twilight.
Twilight replied in awe, “You’re not gonna believe this, guys, but… this futuristic model of Canterlot Town was made by both… Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna… 13 years ago!”

"WHAT?!" yelled all the Rainboom girls in unison, as they then grouped around Twilight trying to see for themselves.
Vinyl Scratch held up her shades once again to look at the plaque with her own eyes and then whistled out of impression.
“You said it, Vinyl,” Rainbow Dash agreed.

"This is amazing! ” said Crafty Arts, “But how could Principal Celestia and Luna have any idea what the future might be like? ”
Twilight and Sunset Shimmer – both originally Equestrians from the Pony World who basically knew the real nature of any Celestia and Luna of any world at least well enough – looked at each other, smiled, and then Twilight said to Crafty Arts, “Let’s just say that when it comes to their home and the ones that live in it, both Celestia and Luna can have real insight and vision when they want to and need to.”

“No doubt about that,” said Sunset Shimmer, as she crossed her arms and thought to herself while looking at the futuristic model of Canterlot Town, “Earth’s versions of Celestia and Luna really are much like those two from Equestria, aren’t they…? Especially Celestia…”

Sunset Shimmer then started remembering what Princess Celestia of Equestria still looked like as Sunset thought to herself again, “I really do miss her… and I really do miss my old home, too…”

The others noticed Sunset starting to look a little upset.
"Are you okay, Sunset?" asked Fluttershy, worried about her.
“Huh…? Oh, OH, uh, yeah, I’m okay, I think,” Sunset Shimmer replied, though she was smiling a little sadly as she wiped away a tear from her right eye, “I, uh… I’m just a little homesick, I think… that’s all, Fluttershy.”

Twilight walked up to Sunset Shimmer and said to her quietly, “You must really miss your old home back in… well, you know…”
“Yeah, I do,” said Sunset Shimmer, as she looked at the futuristic Canterlot Town model’s entire metropolitan set-up and started to imagine it as the Canterlot she used to know back in hers and Twilight’s original home realm of Equestria… first as the current magical version of Equestria’s Canterlot, then a futuristic – or sci-fi fantasy – version of the magical city.

“Hey, Twilight?” Sunset Shimmer said to her, “I know you’ve told me a lot about what’s been going on in Eques- UH, I mean, my old home since I left it.   So, I really do appreciate you continuing to let me know what’s been happening back there through our, uh… ‘computers’ Internet connection’ if you know what I mean… and maybe one day… I could come visit you there sometime, when I’m ready to do… and when I’m also ready to talk to and make amends with… well… you know… Rincess-Pay Estia-Celay…”

“Of course,” Twilight nodded with a smile, as she then gave Sunset Shimmer a big hug.
Sunset Shimmer hugged Twilight back, as tears formed up in her eyes again. Suddenly, all of the other Rainboom girls, along with Spike and even Vinyl Scratch joined in together, forming a very big group hug and Sunset just smiled even more widely and happily as her tears started running down her face quite a lot, the tears being out of both slight sadness and contently quiet joy

“Thank you… for everything…” Sunset Shimmer said to all of her dear friends, “I love you all…”
“We all love you too, Sunset,” Twilight and the Rainbooms all replied sincerely.

Crafty Arts and Wensley were watching them all hugging it out wonderfully.
"Aww, isn't that sweet, Wensy?" asked Crafty Arts, holding her hands together.

“Yeah, it really is beautiful ” said Wensley, “But Cousin Applejack, I don’t suppose you’re ever gonna to tell me what exactly is going on here, or what’s it all about, or what you’ve been up to since the very last time you and I saw each other back when we were so much younger, are ya? ”

Applejack chuckled a little bit as she said, “Trust me, Cousin, I don’t think y’all would believe me at all even if we ALL told ya. ”

“OH, yeah,” Sunset Shimmer agreed, as all of the Rainbooms then laughed together, leaving a certain Wensley confused… well, even more so than before, anyway.

Just then, Sunset Shimmer’s smartphone started to ring. She looked at it and said, “Huh. That’s weird. I’m getting a video chat call request from Flash right now.”

"Well, go ahead and answer it, darling" said Rarity.
"Yeah, don't let us bother, y’all," said Applejack, then patted Sunset Shimmer on the back.
“Alright then,” said Sunset Shimmer, “And YES, Twilight, you can talk to Flash over the phone with me. ”
"Thanks, Sunset, that means a lot to me," said Twilight, as she once again started to blush out of embarrassment yet also happiness.
The others giggled and chuckled, then they all started looking at other pieces of art in the room, giving Sunset and Twilight a little privacy.

Sunset Shimmer accepted Flash Sentry’s video chat request via smartphone, and then a live image of Flash Sentry in his house came up on the phone.
“Hey, Sunset,” said Flash, “Oh, hi there, Twilight. ”
"Hi, Flash, it's good to see you... again <:///) " said Twilight, laughing a bit nervously.
“Same here,” said Flash, “How’s the tour of Canterlot Town going for you guys, especially for Crafty Arts?”
“It’s going great ” said Sunset Shimmer, “But do you mind if I ask why you’re calling us right now?   I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s always a pleasure to hear from you, Flash, but I’m assuming there’s about a 50/50 chance that it might have something to do with the Dazzlings, am I wrong?”

“Well, kinda,” said Flash, “And pretty spot-on as usual, Sunny-girl. ”
Sunset Shimmer rolled her eyes with a smile, though Twilight was clearly a little unamused by the way Flash complimented Sunset just now, though in all fairness, it was only in a neighborly manner. Clearly, Twilight was “jealin’ ” as some might say.

Anyway…
"So far, Crafty Arts has been enjoying the tour of this town, Flash, but what about the Dazzlings? Is everything okay?" asked Twilight, a little worried.
“Yeah, everything is fine,” Flash replied, “It’s just that… well, believe it or not, your pal Noble Wind here suggested that the Dazzlings should maybe try doing a sleepover with you Rainbooms sometime, if possible. We already took it to a vote with them: Adagio and Aria are against it, while Noble Wind, myself, and even Sonata herself are all for it. I guess Noble Wind explaining to Sonata that there would be great fun at a sleepover similar to the fun there was at the mall earlier today won the blue-haired Dazzling girl over so much, that she ACTUALLY wants the sleepover to happen TONIGHT, but it really depends now on whether you guys would like to… and would be able to stomach it, of course. ”

Twilight and Sunset were both shocked by all of what Flash Sentry just said, then both girls looked at each other, not sure what to do.
But then Pinkie Pie stuck her face out above the two Rainboom girls as she said quite cheerfully, “Did somebody say ‘sleepover’? As in… A SLUMBER PARTYYY??? ”

"Yes, Pinkie, Flash wants us to have a slumber party with the Dazzlings," explained Twilight, sighing a little bit uncomfortably.
“Hmm…” Pinkie Pie said, holding up both of her hands while she thought things out loud, “On one hand here, we get to have a super fun slumber party tonight… on the other hand here, we’d have to share said super fun slumber party with the Dazzlings of all people… on the other-other hand here, we DID have some fun with the Dazzlings today at the mall, so it could be fun to have a slumber party with them as well… on the other-other-other hand here, I have it filled with lots of tasty candy again~ ^3^ ”

Pinkie Pie scarfed down said candy again, nomming it delightfully and somewhat adorably, which of course made Sunset, Twilight, and Flash look at her with hilariously dumbfounded looks of confusion on their faces.

“What?? ” Pinkie Pie asked, “Want some?”

"Uh, no thanks, Pinkie, I think we’re good... " said Twilight sheepishly.
Twilight then said to Flash, "We'll talk to the others about it and then we’ll tell you what we decided on, Flash."

“Alright, sounds good ” said Flash, “Really hope you girls say yes, though. I could actually be fun like it was at the mall today.”

“It could be,” said Sunset Shimmer, “Especially considering that it would be a pretty good chance for you two lovebirds to really get to know each other better. "
“We’re not lovebirds! O///O” Flash and Twilight said in embarrassed unison, then looked at each other, then looked away awkwardly.

Flash then said, “I’ll, uh… * ahem * I’ll let you girls get to the decision-making process stuff, and thanks for hearing me out on it. <:///) ”
“Yeah, sure, no problem, bye ^///^; ” said Twilight, as she hung up for Sunset Shimmer.

"Yep, you two are totally lovebirds!" said Sunset, as she smirked at Twilight teasingly.
Twilight then remarked, “…says the girl who dated Flash just to make herself more popular.”
Rainbow Dash, who couldn’t help but overhear SOME of what the two girls were talking about, responded to Twilight’s remark by saying out loud, “OOOHHH!!!!  THAT was below the belt, hahahaha! XD ”

Sunset Shimmer blushed awkwardly as she looked to the side, cleared her throat, and said to Twilight, “Touche, Princess… ^///^; ”
“Touche indeed,” Rarity added.

“By the way,” Twilight said, “About that Video Chat thing that just happened…”
Twilight then took Sunset Shimmer’s smartphone and started looking at it, “It was certainly intriguing, but… how exactly did Flash get himself into this rectangular phone’s tiny little screen anyway? ”

Spike replied, “Yeah, that IS odd.”

That of course caught the Rainbooms, Crafty Arts, Wensley, and Vinyl Scratch all off guard once again AND confused and dumbfounded them all once again as well, as Rainbow Dash couldn’t help but snicker a little at Twilight’s “adorkable” simple-mindedness.

“Uh… * ahem * Anyway, Twilight… ” Applejack said a little sheepishly, “What’s goin’ on? What exactly did Flash want to talk to y’all ‘bout? ”

Sunset Shimmer and Twilight then looked at each other, chuckled nervously, and then said, “Well… ”

About 15 seconds later, half of all of Canterlot Town shook as Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Rarity all said together, “…FLASH AND NOBLE WIND WANT US ALL TO HAVE A SLUMBER PARTY WITH WHOOOOOO?!?!?!”

Naturally, that loud yelling of course scared the living Ba-Jiminy-Crickets out of Fluttershy, Spike, Vinyl Scratch, Wensley, and Crafty Arts.
Pinkie Pie on the other hand was unphased as she said to the distraught Rainboom girls, “You don’t have to yell, girls, we’re all right here together.”

"PLEASE tell me Flash was jokin' 'bout this!" said Applejack angrily, holding her forehead out of stress.
“I’m afraid not,” said Sunset Shimmer, “He was quite serious about this.”
“But who knows?” Twilight said, trying to be optimistic about this, “It COULD turn out to be as much fun for all of us as it did at the mall earlier today… right? ”

Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Rarity just looked at each other with angry looks on their faces, clearly not all that amused or even optimistic of the idea.

Fluttershy wanted to say something, but she wasn’t all that sure, and the same could basically be said with both Spike and Vinyl Scratch.

Crafty wasn't sure if she should say anything, but then she made a fist and said, "Uh, girls? I think we should do it!"
Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Rarity looked at Crafty shocked, and then all 3 said in unison, "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!"

Wensley then stepped up and said, “HEY, back off and give her a chance! Just hear her out, alright?”
The three Rainboom girls looked at each other, feeling a little upset and guilty.
Applejack took off her cowgirl hat and said, "Mighty sorry fer snappin' at ya, Crafty."
“Same here, Crafty-darling,” Rarity replied just as sincerely.
“Yeah, our bad,” said Rainbow Dash, “It’s just… well, I guess hanging out with the Dazzlings today WAS… kinda… sorta… just a tiny bit fun… but you really have no idea what kind of evil jerks those girls are… or rather, can be nowadays. I’m sure Twilight DID already tell you the whole story about who she really is and what’s really going on here between us and the Dazzlings, but… those girls are literally monsters. XP ”

Crafty Arts replied, "Well, she DID tell me everything, but everyone deserves a second chance... even those three girls.”

Fluttershy agreed with Crafty, "She does have a point, girls. After all, we felt the very same way about Sunset Shimmer before we became friends with her.”

“Well, yeah, but that was different!” said Rainbow Dash, “We used the magic of friendship on Sunset Shimmer to stop her and have her see the error of her ways, and she eventually became both a real friend AND one of us. We did the same thing with the Dazzlings, but even after THAT, those three jerkwads clearly still are total jerkwads!”

“Well,” said Wensley, “I STILL don’t know what you girls are talking about EXACTLY, but I think I get the point of the entire gist of it… basically.  I mean… even so, what about that Sonata girl? She seems like a real sweetheart to me, especially when she’s around that Noble Wind pal of yours. Granted, it COULD be some kind of fake-out act from Mean Girls 101 or something of the sort, but still.”

"I've noticed that too, Wensy," said Crafty, crossing her arms.
“Well, yeah,” said Rainbow Dash, “But just because someone can put on a sweet act, doesn’t mean they’re not bad.”
“I don’t think it’s an act, Rainbow Dash,” Twilight said to her, “At least, not as much as one would think it is. I think that Sonata Dusk really DOES have a thing for Noble Wind for all the right reasons, and maybe she really could turn over a new leaf.”

“That may be true, sugarcube,” Applejack said Twilight, “But even if there really is hope fer Sonata, I reckon it’s gonna be mighty tougher with both Adagio and Aria.”
“No kidding,” Rainbow Dash agreed.

"Well, that's why we SHOULD have the slumber party!” Crafty Arts strongly insisted, “We can get to know them all better and it could bring Adagio and Aria closer to reforming!"
Fluttershy said, "I agree with Crafty, girls, even if there's just the teeny-tiniest chance of reforming Aria and Adagio, we HAVE to try."

“They make a good point,” Sunset Shimmer responded.
“Yeah, they sure do,” Twilight agreed.
“I guess…” Rainbow Dash admitted.
“I suppose they are right,” said Rarity.
“Well…” Applejack added, “I guess that considerin’ that the Dazzlin’s don’t exactly have, uh… ‘powers of manipulation’ anymore, they are as much of a threat as sunlight is to apple orchards… which is hardly threatenin’ at all.”

“Looks like it’s decided then ^3^ ” Pinkie Pie stated, as Vinyl Scratch nodded in agreement.

"Great, then let's start planning it," said Crafty, clearly excited.
“I don’t suppose we could go and have the party at your place, could we?” Wensley asked Crafty Arts, “I’m kinda eager to see your new home here in town. <:///) ”

"Well, I'd have to ask my parents, but I'm sure they'll be okay with it," said Crafty Arts, as she got out her smartphone.
“Awesome ^^” said Wensley.

Much later that evening, after all of the students had finished their homework, all of the Rainbooms, Spike, Wensley, along with Flash Sentry, his pet dog Beo, Noble Wind, Vinyl Scratch, and even all three of the Dazzlings all headed over to Crafty Arts’s house at around 9:30 p.m.

Crafty Arts's house was a simple two-floor, two-story house with a small staircase to the roofed porch near the front door, the front door being a white-painted wooden door with a small peephole and a gold-painted doorknob. The house itself was painted yellow and all the windows had white wooden boarders and shutters on them.

When all of the Rainbooms and Spike arrived at Crafty Arts’s house, using the home address Crafty Arts provided for them all earlier that evening, Rainbow Dash said, “Hmm… this house seems really plain and simple to me.”

Rarity added, “It certainly is… simplistic, but I’m sure Crafty is right at home in a place like this.”
“Yeah,” said Sunset Shimmer, “Plus, you never know what a house really has in store for its visitors and owners until you’ve stepped inside and seen for themselves.”

Just then, they heard and saw a certain black Camaro car with Sentry decals on it drive up near them and parked. The doors opened up and out stepped none other than Flash Sentry himself, along with Noble Wind, Beo, and all three of the Dazzlings.

Noble Wind then said to Flash, “DUDE, I don’t know WHAT this ‘car’ machine thing of yours really is or what it can really do, but it is clearly one sweet and smooth ride. ”

Adagio agreed, “Indeed. I didn’t know you were a young man of such style and class, Flash. ”
“That’s Flashy for ya, he’s full of surprises ^3^” said Sonata, hugging Flash adorably.
Aria simply shrugged, “Eh, that ride wasn’t half-bad, certainly isn’t the worst thing I’ve traveled in.”

“Uh, yeah, well, you know me <:///) ” Flash replied, sheepishly embarrassed as he scratched the back of his head.

Twilight and Sunset Shimmer simply just smiled a little bit and rolled their eyes, then Applejack spoke as she headed for the house’s front door, "Well, what're we waitin' fer, y’all? Let's get goin'.”

Applejack knocked on the front door, and Wensley answered it with Crafty Arts right behind him.

"Howdy, everyone," said Wensley, as he then let everyone walk inside the house.
"I'm glad you all could make it," said Crafty Arts, clearly excited and looking forward to tonight’s (hopefully) fun slumber party.

“Wouldn’t miss it for the world,” Twilight replied with a smile, as both Spike and Beo walked up to Crafty Arts and barked hello to her.

"~Aww, hi again, you two ^^ " said Crafty, as she petted both dogs’ sweet, furry foreheads and ears.
"Are you ready for the best sleepover EVER?! " asked Pinkie Pie, very excited herself as she held out a fully packed backpack that was taller than her. Granted, everyone else – even the Dazzlings – had all brought their backpacks and sleeping bags with them, but Pinkie Pie clearly came VERY prepared and then some.

“Holy crud! O.O ” said Noble Wind, “That backpack of yours is hoofin’ HUGE, Pinkie Pie!”
"Of course it is, I couldn't bring my confetti cannon and other super fun stuff in one of those normal tiny backpacks, silly!" said Pinkie Pie, still having her big, delightful smile on her face.

"Uh, ya know this party is only for one night, right Pinkie? " asked Rainbow Dash.
“What’s your point? ” Pinkie Pie asked.
“Yeah, I’m lost too ” Sonata added.

Flash couldn’t help but chuckle a little bit at that, as he then said to Twilight and Sunset Shimmer, "Looks like we're in for one amusing night, huh? "
"I think you're right, Flash" said Twilight.

"My bedroom's upstairs, everyone," said Crafty Arts, as she then led everyone to her bedroom.

Crafty Arts’s bedroom had purple walls with Crafty's bed right next to a wall, and there was a nightstand next to the bed with a small lamp and alarm clock on the nightstand. In a corner of the bedroom, there was a painting canvas with a small table next to it that had a paintbrush and sorted paint colors sitting on it. A single window was on a wall and a small closet was next to Crafty’s bed. The entire room was a small 12x12ft room, so it was definitely going to be a room for only all of the girls to use, while the boys used the guest room.

With that being established, Wensley gently kissed the right side of Craft Arts’s right face cheek and said to her, “You girls have a good fun night, and don’t stay up too late, okay?”

"Okay, Wensy, but are you sure you can't stay here with me?" asked Crafty, as she held Wensley's hand.
“I’d love to, but clearly this room of yours – with all due respect – is not big enough to hold EVERYONE here,” said Wensley, “So, I figure it’s just big enough for all of you girls to have a good, fun time together. As well as both of the pet dogs.”

Noble Wind added, “I agree. And besides… all of us boys, girls, and dogs fitting into one room for a slumber party doesn’t really seem all that well balanced out ‘cause… again… boys, girls, dogs… THREE different kinds of party-goers here in one little room… no thanks, because… THREE is a crowd. ”

A comedic rim-shot went off in the background, signaling that Noble Wind DID try to – once again – make a hilarious joke, but everyone else kinda groaned at said joke, which clearly fell flat.

Well, everyone that is except for Sonata Dusk, who apparently found it to be hilarious as she then said while trying to contain her laughter, “G-Go-Good one, Noby! That’s totally priceless, hahaha! ^3^ ”

Noble Wind smiled, then whispered to Twilight Sparkle, “Nice to know someone thinks I’m funny. ”
Twilight replied, “Statistically, I suppose SOMEONE has to.”
Noble Wind then just looked at Twilight unamused as the young man slightly huffed like the stallion-transformed-into-a-human he really was. **

"Anyway, I understand what you mean, Wensy, so you and the boys have fun, too," said Crafty, kissing her boyfriend’s face’s right cheek.
“And you girls have a good time together ” said Noble Wind.
“And you Dazzlings better be on your BEST behavior,” Flash said to the Siren girls strictly, as he crossed his arms with a stern look on his face.

"Don't worry, Noby and Flashy, we'll be fine! " said Sonata excitedly, as she hugged Aria and Adagio into both of her arms, much to both of her sisters’ discomfort, of course.

“Alright then,” said Flash, “Sweet dreams, Twi- UH, girls, and uh, let us know if you need anything from us dudes. <:///) ”
"Thanks, Flash, we will, and let us know it you guys need anything from us girls," said Twilight sincerely, waving to the guys as they left the bedroom.

The boys all left the girls with Crafty Arts in her bedroom, and then Sunset Shimmer said, “Alright, girls, let’s get this slumber party started!”
